Chairman of the Board
Tate Profilet lead P&M Steel for 25 years as President with the goal of providing construction steel for the region with a motivated team of employees. He began working with the Company after 10 years in the Construction Engineering business. He came into the business in 1984 and grew P&M Steel as the Sioux Falls area grew to new levels. He built a team of employees that carried P&M Steel into the 21st century with a new facility and equipment for the team. He has turned the process of running the family business over to his nephew, Mike DeJong, and daughter, Katrin Profilet and they are continuing to move the business forward. P&M Steel continues the practice of giving back to the community and being a significant member of the community.
Tate Profilet served as President of P&M Steel for 25 years. Prior to that, he worked in the Construction Engineering business both at P&M and in other venues. His experience includes bidding, detailing, project management, and business leadership. Tate’s professional training includes a degree in Structural Engineering and licensure as a Professional Engineer.
Tate began working at P&M Steel in 1984.
Tate has been an active member of and contributor to the Sioux Falls community. He has served on community boards and assisted with fundraising for a wide variety of community causes.
Tate has transitioned leadership of the company to nephew, Mike DeJong, and daughter, Katrin Profilet, whose focus is to provide outstanding service to the construction industry and leadership to the Sioux Falls community.
